Disintegration Collaboration

While I can't bury my papers today for the Disintegration Project I did bundle them up and place them in the rusty container where they will reside until the un-bundling in May. When the ground unfreezes I'll likely bury the whole thing in the soft garden soil when they will do what they will. Many of my papers are very old...dating back to the 50's. Many of them were rescued from a dumpster, unwanted, already aged. By burying and recovering them once again, they will have new life. I'll unbound them and use them in some new mixed media pieces.

Thank you Seth for the project!

That is such a COOL idea! Why didn't I think of that???? ha
So, you tie them with string and let them "age". How long? Love this idea...too bad my backyard is filled with rocks!

I saw reference to this project on Judy Wise's blog - looks like a great project and what fun it will be to unearth (after the papers get earthed) the whole shabang in May!

So happy you are participating Theresa. Your bundles look so beautiful already. Great mosaic of pictures too! Cannot wait for May 1!

I don't think I could wait that long! Not to mention, you can't bury because of the snow, and here in Texas, the ground is so hard due to lack of rain, there is no way...I would break the shovel!
Can't wait till May!!!

I did bury my stash in a garden path. I found a postcard that had been tied with string halfway across the yard - perhaps a bird was trying to build a nest...so I thought it was time to bury it. Looking forward to unearthing it in May.

Hi Theresa. Thanks for the comment on my blog giveaway. Came over for a peek at your blog. You have some lovely work, (particularly the clown and those two enchanting children) and very interesting items. The burying of old paper is intriguing. I look forward to seeing what is produced.
